Same-Day Root Canals in Dallas, TX

Severe tooth pain can be a sign of infection inside the tooth. Root canal treatment can relieve that pain and save the tooth, often in a single visit.

What Is a Root Canal?

A dentist explains the root canal proceedure

A root canal is a procedure used to remove the infection inside the tooth. When the inner pulp becomes inflamed or infected (often due to decay or a crack) it can cause significant pain and can't heal on its own.

A root canal treatment removes the infection, cleans the inside of the tooth, and seals it to prevent further problems. The goal is to save your natural tooth and eliminate pain.

Signs You May Need a Root Canal

Not all tooth infections feel the same, but there are common symptoms to watch for:

  • Persistent or severe tooth pain
  • Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers
  • Pain when biting or chewing
  • Swelling in the gums or face
  • A pimple-like bump on the gums
  • Darkening or discoloration of a tooth

If you’re experiencing any of these, it’s important to get evaluated quickly.

What to Expect During Root Canal Treatment

Diagnosis and Imaging

We begin with an exam and digital X-rays to confirm the infection and assess the tooth's structure.

Treatment Planning

Once we have reviewed the X-rays, the dentist will present a recommended treatment plan. If you should choose to save the tooth with a root canal, they will explain the root canal procedure in detail understand what they will be doing throughout the process.

Removing the Infection

The inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected. The infected pulp is removed to eliminate the source of pain.

Sealing the Tooth

Once cleaned, the tooth is sealed to prevent future infection. In most cases, you will receive a temporary crown while a permanent crown is made, which can take a few days to a week. Once placed, the permanent crown will look nearly identical to the original tooth and restore strength and function.

Payment

We offer multiple payment options, including insurance and credit/debit. We also offer financing, if needed, to help cover the cost of treatment.

Does a Root Canal Hurt?

This is a common concern we hear from patients. Root canal treatment is meant to relieve pain, not cause it. With local anesthesia, most patients feel little to no discomfort during the procedure. Many describe it as similar to getting a filling. The biggest difference is how much better the tooth feels afterward.

Why Prompt Treatment Matters

Stop the Infection

Dental infections don’t go away on their own and can spread if left untreated.

Save Your Natural Tooth

A root canal allows you to keep your tooth instead of removing it, which helps maintain your bite and overall oral health.
