Root Canals

Though root canals are often perceived as painful or uncomfortable, it is actually relieves pain!

Teeth have 1-4 roots each. These roots go extend into the jaw. Sometimes they can become infected. This can cause a toothache and a great deal of pain. If your tooth’s roots get infected, then a root canal therapy may save your tooth. Root canal therapy involves cleaning the canals inside the tooth’s root, removing the infection, and then filling the canals so they can no longer get infected. Once completed, the tooth is covered with a crown.

Emergency Dental Care USA in Bonita Springs, FL is able to provide expert root canal therapy or endodontic therapy (ie Root canals) – often on the same day of your visit. In some more complicated cases, we will refer you to an endodontist (a root canal specialist).

HOW MUCH DO ROOT CANALS COST?

The cost of root canal therapy depends on many factors:

  • Which tooth?
Front teeth are typically much easier to access and work on; therefore cheaper. Rear teeth, like molars, are more difficult to reach and typically have more roots, therefore are more expensive.
  • Where do you live?
Pricing varies at each Emergency Dental Care office. Prices are always based on the average price for dental services in the local area.
  • What else is needed (e.g. crowns, bridges, other restorations)?
Teeth requiring root canals often have some kind of external damage. If this is the case, it can affect the cost of the total cost of the procedure.
  • Has there been a root canal performed on the tooth before?
If the tooth has had a root canal performed on it in the past, it complicates the procedure. This usually means an increase in time and cost of the procedure.
  • Crowns
Once the root canal is completed, a crown is placed on top. Like a root canal, the price of the crown depends on the tooth.
